The natural luxury and kudos of a traditional solid oak floor is undeniable, and for most of us the use of plywood or softwood in conventional engineered floors is a compromise. That is why we created Strata, a unique engineered board made entirely from Oak and successfully combining the beauty and luxury of traditional solid wood floors with the additional stability of an engineered construction.

DIMENSIONALLY SUPER Stable

Strata boards are made from 3 layers of Oak and their award winning construction is inherently stable. The precisely calibrated top and bottom layers are equal in thickness to the core elements and laid in the opposite direction. As all of the layers are made of the same material, movement in response to environmental conditions is inherently equal and opposite, creating intrinsic balance and removing the risk of unequal stress causing abnormal movement.

Optimally Sustainable

Like all of our flooring, the oak used to make Strata is responsibly sourced from sustainably managed European forests. In addition though, the elements used to make Strata’s core are recycled from the saw-milling process where they would otherwise almost certainly be burned due to their size. This optimises both the use of timber and carbon capture as well as minimising waste.

WONDERFULLY VERSATILE

Strata boards are available in 3 widths, including our majestic 300mm Extra Wide planks. Like conventional engineered oak floors they can be glue fixed, nail fixed or floated and they can also be laid over underfloor heating. All Broadleaf plank floor finishes are available in Strata options so there is no need to limit your design choice to take advantage of them.
