Our Oak Door Liners should only be fitted after any plastering is complete and fully dry, as wet plaster is likely to warp them and will react with the tannin in the oak to turn them purple.

To create an edge to plaster against before they’re fitted, use waste timber set to accommodate the thickness of the oak door liner.

Once the plaster is fully dry, fit the oak door liner using screws of suitable depth and cover these with the door stops (slamming strips) fixed with pin nails. Knock these back using a nail punch and fill with suitable filler before finishing.

Lightly sand to remove any pencil marks and finish with an internal wood finish. We recommend using one of our natural hardwax oil finishes.

The right fitting products, finishing touches and aftercare make all the difference to how a beautiful wood floor or door looks, feels and wears. Our carefully curated collection of accessories has been expertly selected to help you achieve a really professional finish that will look and feel fantastic now, and in years to come.
