Wood Flooring Trends 2025

Short-term trends shouldn’t be the focus for choosing beautiful, long-term wood flooring. However, there are definitely longer-term shifts in interior style that are worth taking account. We discuss some influences that are here to stay for the long-run.

Wood Flooring Trends 2025

Pattern

Over recent years pattern has seen a huge comeback across interiors with an explosion of bold and exciting wallpapers, fabrics and ceramics. In terms of wood flooring this has been reflected in the growing popularity of parquet which itself can be used to create a wealth of interesting flooring patterns and designs. Alongside the classic herringbone, we are seeing a resurgence of less well known patterns such as Basketweave, Double Herringbone and Ladder. Many of these have a more modern feel that works very well with more contemporary or bolder interior design.

Designers are also looking to mix different shades of parquet within the same floor to further accentuate pattern and are also bringing back parquet borders to define both the edges of larger rooms and also to define different areas or accentuate features such as island units or fireplaces. This is easily done with any of our parquet flooring as all of finishes are made on the same formats and so fit together easily. We can also make plank borders to work with any of our parquet floors.

INDIVIDUALITY

Individuality is another long term trend that looks to be here to stay. As a society, we’re growing ever more confident in our personal tastes and choices, and are being encouraged to express personality rather than following a particular style. This means we’re increasingly more likely to buy from independent brands and not limit ourselves to mass market, high street names.

As designers and manufacturers, this is great news for us. We make our floors to order so we can offer the widest choice of finishes and affordably tailor our floors to individual needs. If you have something in mind that you can’t find in our standard collections, always ask. We’ll almost certainly be able to make it, or something very close to it, and our team will be excited to help  you bring your ideas to life.

SUSTAINABILITY

The focus on sustainability continues in interior design as elsewhere, with discerning consumers becoming ever more conscious of the importance of sustainable choices. Wood flooring is arguably the most sustainable flooring choice in terms of its raw material, production processes and longevity, but we are pleased to see that British manufacture and environmentally conscious finishes are also now becoming a priority.

At Broadleaf, responsible forestry has always been fundamental to what we do. We are real wood specialists who are committed to providing sustainable products and operate under a firm environmental policy from forest to final floor. All of our beautiful real wood flooring is made using the highest quality timber sourced from carefully selected European forests – the majority of which are FSC® or PEFC certified. We have long championed finishes with minimal environmental impact and continue to look for way to minimise our overall footprint, be that recycled and recyclable packaging, green energy or using our waste to heat our warehouses.
